Fujitsu AG10-E Howto für Solaris 2.6 - 7 - 8 und 9

Grundsätzliches :
Um die Installation zu vereinfachen, ist es empfehlenswert
die Treiber im Verzeichnis   /export/home/   abzulegen.
Man findet die Treiber auf der Solaris 2.6 CD.
Wer diese CD nicht besitzt, kann die Treiber hier bekommen :

Zur installation der Treiber ist es nicht erforderlich, das die AG10-E eingebaut ist.

Die Treiber installieren :
Dazu die Maschine mit  boot -s   im SingleUser Mode starten.
Mit  cd /export/home/ in das Verzeichnis mit den Treibern wechseln.
Die folgenden Pakete mit   pkgadd -d .   einspielen:

   PFUaga.m       =   nur für SUN SparcStation 5,10,20 verwenden
   PFUaga.u         =   nur für SUN Ultra verwenden

   PFUagacf
   PFUagaow     
   PFUagar
   PFUagaxgl    
 
Konfiguration des Xserver :
Dazu als erstes die folgenden Verzeichnisse mit  mkdir anlegen:
     /etc/dt/config

Dann die Datei Xservers dorthin kopieren :
cp /usr/dt/config/Xservers  /etc/dt/config/

Damit man in den Genuss der 24 Bit Auflösung kommt, muß der Datei Xservers:
 in    /etc/dt/config/Xservers
folgender Eintrag der letzten Zeile hinzugefügt werden:
     -dev /dev/fb defclass TrueColor defdepth 24

Die Zeile sollte dann ungefähr so ausssehen:
     :0   Local local_uid@console root /usr/openwin/bin/Xsun :0 -nobanner -dev /dev/fb defclass TrueColor defdepth 24

Die Datei speichern und  mit reboot neustarten,
oder die Maschine mit  halt herunterfahren, und die AG10-E einsetzen.

Wurde alles richtig gemacht, dann hat man nach dem Neustart 24-Bit Grafik.

Die gewünschte Auflösung / Bildwiederholrate einstellen :
Dazu in das Verzeichnis  /etc/init.d/   wechseln.
Die Datei  agaconfig mit dem Texteditor öffnen.
Vor der Zeile mit der gewünschten Auflösung / Bildwiderholrate das # entfernen.
Zur Auswahl stehen:
#montype = 1280_76           = 1280x1024 Auflösung mit 76 Hz Wiederholfrequenz
#montype = 1280_67           = 1280x1024 Auflösung mit 67 Hz Wiederholfrequenz
#montype = 1152_76           = 1152x  900 Auflösung mit 76 Hz Wiederholfrequenz
#montype = 1152_66           = 1152x  900 Auflösung mit 66 Hz Wiederholfrequenz = Default
#montype = 1024_76           = 1024x  768 Auflösung mit 76 Hz Wiederholfrequenz
Wichtig : Es darf nur eine Zeile ohne  # sein !
Die Änderung der Datei speichern und die Maschine neustarten.
Das war im Schnelldurchgang schon alles.

Preliminary :
In order to simplify the installation,
copy the Driver from the Solaris 2.6 CD to   /export/home/
Who does not have these CD, the drivers can get here:

For the installation of the drivers it is not necessary, which is inserted the AG10-E.

Install the Device-Driver :
Start up the Machine with the command  boot -s  in SingleUser Mode.
Make cd /export/home/
Install the following packages with pkgadd -d

   PFUaga.m      =  only for SUN SparcStation 5,10,20
   PFUaga.u        =  only for SUN Ultra

   PFUagacf
   PFUagaow   
   PFUagar
   PFUagaxgl  
 
Configuration of the Xserver :
Make this new directories:
 /etc/dt/config   with  mkdir

Then copy the file Xservers :
cp /usr/dt/config/Xservers /etc/dt/config/

So that you becomes the benefit of the 24 bit colors, edit the file Xservers :
 in  /etc/dt/config/Xservers
the following entry of the last line should be added:
     -dev /dev/fb defclass TrueColor defdepth 24

The line should look then approximately in such a way:
   :0  Local local_uid@console root /usr/openwin/bin/Xsun :0 -nobanner -dev /dev/fb defclass TrueColor defdepth 24

Save the file and reboot your machine.
Otherwise shut down the machine and put the AG-10E in your machine.
If everything was made correct, then 24-Bit colors are present after the restart .

Change the Resolution/ Refreshrate :
Go into the directory /etc/init.d/ 
Open the agaconfig with a Texteditor and
remove the # in front of the line with you favored resolution.

#montype = 1280_76           = 1280x1024 Resolution with 76 Hz Refreshrate
#montype = 1280_67           = 1280x1024 Resolution with 67 Hz Refreshrate
#montype = 1152_76           = 1152x  900 Resolution with 76 Hz Refreshrate
#montype = 1152_66           = 1152x  900 Resolution with 66 Hz Refreshrate = Default
#montype = 1024_76           = 1024x  768 Resolution with 76 Hz Refreshrate
Important : It may be only one line without # !
Save the changes and reboot your machine.
